The German-Czech-Austrian documentary film that Lenka Ovčáčková is currently working on has the working title The Second and Third Generation.
It deals with the passing on of life experiences related to forced migration during and after the Second World War to the children and grandchildren of those who experienced it. The film places particular emphasis on reflecting deeply on these events, which the second and third generations did not experience themselves, yet which continue to influence them in many ways to this day.
The film aims to facilitate an inner dialogue based on the accounts of contemporary witnesses and young interviewees, as well as philosophical and literary quotations. This dialogue will focus on questions of identity, the search for one’s roots, and reconciliation.
As with all film projects, this one is largely self-produced and self-financed, so any support helps to ensure that the film can be completed more quickly.
